Game of Thrones

Jesus replied, “I assure you that when the world is made new and the Son of Man sits upon his glorious throne, you who have been my followers will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel." Matthew 19:28

There is a popular television series out now called Game of Thrones.  I must confess I've never seen it.

I have seen another game of thrones; the one in your life and in mine.  Though, it's really no game at all.

It seems those of us who are Christians often forget who should be on the throne in our own lives--Jesus.  We take Christ off the throne and put any number of things and people in His place.  It's like playing a game of chess without the king--you can't win.

The war is constant.

Pride and jealousy are at the root of our desire to be on the throne rather than God.  Pride led to Lucifer's fall.

Isaiah 14:12-13 reminds us, "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!  How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!  For you have said in your heart:  ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation. On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’

God's Word gives us the keys to the Kingdom, and staying daily in prayer and reading Scripture keeps those keys from rusting.

Psalm 119:105 tells us clearly, "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path."

And, Deuteronomy 30:19-20 says, “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!  You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Humility puts God back on the throne.  God delights in the humble.

Luke 1:52 tells us, "He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble."

Does your chess board have all the pieces?  As long as the King is in His proper place, you're destined to win.

Goodnight, Runners.

Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you're working with?
I'm planning to start my own blog soon but I'm having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something completely
unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had
to ask!
