The Sanctity of Life
As human beings, we seem to have forgotten something.
The something we have forgotten is very important.
It is the Ten Commandments.
They used to be posted in every school, church, courthouse, and government building. It wasn't so long ago that this was the case. It has been during my lifetime that the change has taken place and it is grievous to me.
Is it grievous to you?
This forgetfulness has permeated our society in the worst sort of way. We seem to no longer care about nor do we value the sanctity of human life. We kill babies, the elderly, and the infirm for the sake of convenience and call it merciful and humane. Such lies and deceit!
I know of three people in hospitals under hospice care recently. Two of the three were being deprived of food and water to hasten their death. Doctors called it a "quality of life" issue. I even heard someone recently stating, "If I'm ever in any way incapacitated, just do me in." What a tragedy!
Do we not see? Do we fail to believe that Almighty God is the giver of all life, and the taker, as well?
I heard someone tell of how convenient to have the abortion pill in case she forgot her birth control. What?!
This is the devil's twisting of a precious gift that God has given to all who will receive it: Life! If we understood its value, it would change EVERYTHING. If we understood that He is the very definition of life, it would change EVERYTHING.
EVERYTHING.
The Holy Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:10, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
God carefully designed and crafted every human being for a specific purpose. Don't miss it, and don't take it away.
Goodnight, Runners.
