Real Reconciliation
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God." 2 Corinthians 5:17-20
"Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14)."
Are you in need of reconciliation? The Holy Bible talks about reconciliation in a way that the world cannot understand. Real reconciliation can only occur after we are first reconciled to God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
What are we to do if we desire to be reconciled to someone?
Scripture gives us the answer to this question in Colossians 1:17-20, saying, "And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross."
True reconciliation and peace with another can only be found when both parties are first reconciled and at peace in their relationship to God through Jesus. Sadly, many do not want to give up their dark path of sin to be reconciled to God in humility, and Scripture talks about this, too.
John 3:19-21 tells us this, "And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
While we may not always be able to reconcile with everyone because they are unwilling to be reconciled to God, we can and should do our part.
Goodnight, Runners.
