Drawing All Men to Him
“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” John 12:32
"I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me." Psalm 30:1
Do you sense God drawing you to Him?
Jesus tells us in John 6:44, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day."
In this 6th Chapter of John, Jesus is reminding the disciples and others of His appointed purpose, that He should be lifted up on the cross for your sins and mine, and in doing so the Father will draw man unto Him. But Jesus must also admonish them, for many do not believe. They are reminded to walk in the light that Jesus brings while there is still time. And He reminds them that it is the Spirit that gives life and light, the only true life and light.
This Word is equally important for us today, right now.
In our polarized world, many are turning away and no longer walk with Him, as it was in Jesus day. They are weak and lack faith. And many turn toward Him to follow for it is His truth, this light, the Spirit that draws them.
But notice what He is drawing us to. In John 6:56-57 Jesus tells us, "Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me." Jesus wants us to be completely and totally one with Him. This is a picture of something so much greater than human intimacy or the kind of oneness we consider. It is far deeper, much greater, and it requires strong faith that is rooted in Him and Him alone.
Do you have this faith? Is He drawing you today?
I pray that you would not turn aside and that you would heed the radical call to oneness with Jesus today.
Goodnight, Runners.
