Consider the Ravens
"Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!" Luke 12:24
How are you doing today?
Are you grateful for God's provision?
In reading the passage of Scripture above, I am reminded of the prophet Elijah. After prophesying that there would be no dew or rain in Israel for a few years, God told him to go east and hide by Kerith Brook where God commanded the ravens to feed him bread and meat every morning and evening and he drank from the brook (1 Kings 17:2-6). God not only fed the ravens, but He used them to feed His faithful servant.
God feeds us in order that we might feed others, too—both physically and spiritually.
Are you feeding others?
In our Lord's model prayer He states, "Give us this day our daily bread" (Matthew 6:11, ESV). It is this example that He practiced, sharing in all things generously as He was given from the Father. It is this example that we must practice, too.
Psalm 147:9 says, "He gives food to the wild animals and feeds the young ravens when they cry" (NLT).
If you are in need, cry out to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He hears the cries of honest lips (Psalm 17:1).
If you have enough, listen for the voices crying all around you, and with a grateful heart give to meet the need, whatever it may be.
Goodnight, Runners.
