Puppies, Puppies, Bouncing Happy Puppies
"O Zion, messenger of good news, shout from the mountaintops! Shout it louder, O Jerusalem. Shout, and do not be afraid. Tell the towns of Judah, “Your God is coming!” Isaiah 40:9
So shout it from the mountaintops! We serve a mighty, holy God! And He is coming!
"But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God." Acts 20:24
There are six new puppies in my house today!
Anyone within earshot or text message in the past four days has heard more than they could possibly want to know about them. I have been shamelessly excited in telling others about these wonderful new puppies, sending daily videos updates about them to the family, and doting on them to strangers, too.
I think you know where this is going.
It is so easy to shout puppies, sports teams, and so many other things from the mountaintops. Why not Jesus? Why do we allow the culture and society to quiet our love for Him? May it never be!
But, it is equally important that our lives be lived in demonstration of His call to holiness and purity, as well. Otherwise, we defame Him. As Ephesians 5:15 reminds us, "So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise" (NLT).
As our culture becomes more and more accepting of evil, living the Christian life becomes more challenging. It is in these times that we are called to be even more courageous. 2 Timothy 4:5 encourages us, "But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you" (NLT).
So shout it from the mountaintops! We serve a mighty, holy God! And He is coming!

Goodnight, Runners.
