Stupid is Expensive

"I am weary, O God; I am weary and worn out, O God. I am too stupid to be human, and I lack common sense. I have not mastered human wisdom, nor do I know the Holy One."  Proverbs 30:1-3

Stupidity is expensive.  Don't I know it!

Do you know it, too?  Let me answer for you, "Yes, you do."

We've all done stupid things, and some are more expensive than others in terms of consequence.  Some decisions cost us for a long, long time.  Some choices have life-changing repercussions that cannot be undone.  Like sheep without a shepherd, on our own we get into all sorts of trouble and mess.  But when we're connected to Jesus, we don't make stupid decisions.  He guides us.

Psalm 23:3 says, "He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name."

"You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny."  Psalm 73:24

"Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide."  Psalm 119:98

"If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me."  Psalm 139:9-10

And Psalm 16:7 tells us, "I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me."

With wonderful promises like these, how could we ever want to make a move without Him?

"This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow."  Isaiah 48:17

There is no stupid when we stay close to Jesus.

Goodnight, Runners.
