Created to Create

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27

Do you have a creative side?

Spoiler alert:  It's a trick question.  Say, "yes."

To say that we don't have a creative side is to say we aren't made in God's image.  He created us to be like Him and He is the Creator of all!

But, true confessions.  When I was younger I often said that I wasn't very creative at all.  It was because I was using the creative gifts I had been given in all of the wrong ways and with all the wrong motives.  When I finally began to use what I thought were very limited creative gifts for God's glory, He opened up a whole new world in which I could be a blessing to others.

I believe He wants you to use your creativity to bless others, too, and there are just no limits to it.

The first thing we should do in pursuit of God and His planned creativity for us is to ask Him to, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalms 51:10).  Once we have done that, there is just no end to the possibilities He has for us creatively!

So back to that question about your creative side.  Have you found it yet?  

Often we allow the culture around us to dictate our life in its entirety and I don't believe God intended that for us at all.  He made us all so very different and gifted us in such vastly different ways.  We use many of these gifts in industry and it often doesn't feel very creative at all, but that shouldn't be where our pursuit of God's plan ends.

Take that first step.  Be vulnerable.  Have faith.

And watch what God will do.
