No More Night

"There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.  And they will reign for ever and ever."  Revelation 22:5

Having just returned from the Saturday morning bike ride in smothering darkness, I am reminded that the night will not last.  It is only temporary, this time when all is shadow and evil prowls, when even cicadas and crickets keep silent.  The seasons change and the morning light will return.  The long nights will fade away into shorter nights and longer days again.

But there is coming a time when there will be no more night at all!  God's Word tells us and the Holy Spirit in our lives gives us constant reminder of this.  He speaks to our hearts, reminding us that we are but aliens in a foreign land, spiritual beings in an earthly dwelling—a dwelling that is temporary.  In it we groan, but eternally we will rejoice for we will reign with Him . . . if we are His.

Are you His?

Have you chosen to follow Jesus, to obey Him, give your life to Him?  There is nothing greater in all the world!  No blessing richer than being captured by His love.

No matter what you've done, God can forgive you.  He loves you more than anyone ever has or ever will love you.

Won't you choose to follow the light and life of Jesus today?

"Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world.  If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”  John 8:12

“For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night. So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded. Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk. But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation.”  1 Thessalonians 5:5-8

Goodnight, Runners.
