For My Uncle

Dear Uncle Alan dreamed a dream
Of my vast living room, it seemed

“We had a grand party,” he said
“Stayed up way past the time for bed

“So grand it was, this place of yours
‘Twas wide and tall—not cramped indoors

“Dear Niece, does this describe your place
I’ve never seen your living space”

“Not by a long shot, Uncle Dear
My living space is quaint, austere

“You must have dreamed my heav’nly home
So great to hear there’s room to roam

“Let’s invite everyone we know
So they’ll not miss the chance to go.”
