What Are You Giving Jesus This Christmas?

"They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh."  Matthew 2:11

What are you giving Jesus for Christmas this year?

In all of the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and preparation, we often forget the most obvious, the most important, the One we are celebrating:  Jesus.

We forget Him when we lose sight of the JOY (Jesus--Others--You) in our priorities.

And, what do we give to the One who has everything and holds the whole world in His hands?  The magi brought the baby Jesus special gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.  They were costly and significant gifts by anyone's account.  But, our Jesus has ascended into Heaven.  What costly and significant gifts might we have to give Him now?

The cattle on a thousand hills won't work.  He's already got that.  Lasso the moon, the sun, the stars?  I believe He's already got those, too.

Perhaps something He doesn't have quite yet is you.

All. Of. You.

Maybe, just maybe, Jesus isn't first place on your list.  Or, possibly He isn't getting the time He deserves from you, the gratitude for His sacrifice, the obedience, the trust, the commitment, the love.  Perhaps you haven't yet dedicated all of the talents you have to Him.  Or, maybe you haven’t read or learned what the Holy Bible teaches.

Jesus is the Guest of Honor.

This Christmas may the very best present wrapped beneath the tree belong to Jesus as we remember the gift of His birth, the costly sacrifice of His life, and the significance He brings to each and every one of ours.

May we, each and every one of us, consider carefully what to give Jesus this year.

Oh, how He loves you and me.

Goodnight, Runners.
