We All See It

"See! He is arriving, surrounded by clouds; and every eye shall see him—yes, and those who pierced him. And the nations will weep in sorrow and in terror when he comes. Yes! Amen! Let it be so!"  Revelation 1:7

We all see it, but are we doing anything about it?

The it I am referring to is the moral rot and decay around us.  It is in our homes and families, our schools, government, workplaces and churches.  Many seem to have grown comfortable with it.  "It's just the way things are nowadays," they say.

But what does the Holy Bible say?

In Matthew 24:37-39, we read about what things will be like when our Lord returns, and it sounds a great deal like now, "The world will be at ease—banquets and parties and weddings—just as it was in Noah’s time before the sudden coming of the Flood; people wouldn’t believe what was going to happen until the Flood actually arrived and took them all away. So shall my coming be."

Luke 21:34-35 tells us this, "Watch out! Don’t let my sudden coming catch you unawares; don’t let me find you living in careless ease, carousing and drinking, and occupied with the problems of this life, like all the rest of the world."

Reading these words I become disturbed by my own busyness and some of the worthless things I do each day and the needless striving after things having no eternal value.  Do you find yourself disturbed, too?

If we want things to change, we must follow Christ's example, be disciples of His, make disciples of His, pray, fast, seek Him above all things (Matthew 6:33), repent of sin, and we must never fear the things or people in this world.

We all see it.

Let's do something about it.

Now.

Goodnight, Runners.
