When God Drops a Pin

"As you travel into exile, set up road signs pointing back to Israel. Mark your pathway well. For you shall return again, O virgin Israel, to your cities here."  Jeremiah 31:21

I am always blown away by God's love for me.

Are you?

We must never forget this fact.  Jesus love us, and He won't ever stop.

He. Won't. Ever. Stop. Loving. Us.

Recently, this foggy fogey was learning how to drop a pin in Google Maps.  It's a helpful little feature if you want to mark and save a location on an electronic device.  It's especially useful for marking those locations that are off the beaten path, and I had a place like that I wanted to remember--a special place beneath the stars where God spoke to my heart.

As I was learning to do this, I was reminded of all the times God dropped a pin in the lives of people in the Holy Bible.  At the place where Jacob wrestled with God and his name was changed to Israel, He dropped a pin and Jacob named the place Peniel.  It was the place where he saw God and yet his life was preserved (Genesis 32:30).  When God stopped the flow of the Jordan river so the Israelites could bring the Ark of the Covenant across on dry ground, the Lord instructed Joshua to have twelve stones taken from the Jordan--one for each of the twelve tribes--as a pin drop in remembrance of this miracle (Joshua 4).  We could go on and on with many such events in the Holy Bible.

What about you?  Has God ever dropped a pin in your life?

There are many such pins that God has dropped in my own life.  One is on Elm Street in Trinity, Texas where He miraculously sent me to Baylor after my junior year in high school.  And, there are many, many more.  But, there is one thing that every one of these pins communicates to me, and that is the massive, immeasurable love God has for me.

He has it for you, too.

JESUS LOVES ME
By:  Anna Bartlett Warner, Susan Warner, and William Batchelder Bradbury

Jesus loves me, this I know,
for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong;
they are weak, but he is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me he who died
heaven's gate to open wide.
He will wash away my sin,
let his little child come in.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me, this I know,
as he loved so long ago,
taking children on his knee,
saying, "Let them come to me."

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Each and every day, God drops a pin in your life and in mine, inviting us to join Him in all that He is doing.

Won't you join Him today?

Goodnight, Runners.
