The Field of Souls

He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”  Matthew 9:37-38

Are you working in God’s field today?

Recently, I was convicted about how callous, how desensitized we have become as Christians to the Holy Spirit's promptings in our lives, in my own life.  We have immersed ourselves in catalogs, cell phones, and the culture--forgetting that we were ever immersed in baptism.  We are busy chasing all the things the world chases:  wealth, stuff, leisure, retirement, and more.  There is very little difference.

Are you different?

Jesus calls His followers to be different, and that's not a one and done difference.  Every day we must spend time with Him and seek to be His kind of different.

I bring this up because there is a great deal of work to be done, and it's going to take someone who's different to do it.

Will you be different?

Being different and not fitting in is costly, make no mistake about it.  Jesus told us to count the cost (Luke 14:28).  He told us that we couldn't become His disciple without giving up everything we own (Luke 14:33).  Will you let go of the death grip you have on all the world has to offer you?

Someone you know needs to know, to see the different love of Jesus today.

John 4:35 tells us, "You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest."

Goodnight, Runners.
