“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalms 19:14 NLTThey call it hate speech.
Yet, the most loving words I know are God’s truth. They are radical, but they have life-giving power.
Do you know these words?
People twist the words of Jesus, to be sure. But, if you are reading the Holy Bible for yourself each day, you know these words to be love and life to your body, mind, and soul.
Scripture tells us there is coming a day, and I believe it is close at hand, when believers all over the world will be hated and persecuted for following Jesus. In Matthew 24:9 regarding the end times, Jesus tells us, Himself, “Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.”
This happened to the disciples shortly after Jesus’ ascension, and it is happening all around us again today.
Do you see it?
If you know Jesus Christ personally, then I encourage you to speak His truth in love to everyone around you. Please don’t be cowardly or ashamed, for we will be judged for that, as well (Revelation 21:8).
And, if you don’t know Jesus, personally, please seek Him. For in doing so, God’s Word promises you will find Him. He is the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except by receiving first His Son, Jesus Christ.
