Time and Wounds

"He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.”   Psalm 147:3 

There is an old saying that, “Time heals all wounds.” But, that isn’t necessarily true. There are some wounds that no amount of time can heal. These wounds run deep—to the core of our being. 

These are the wounds that only Christ can heal. He can heal them because He has experienced them firsthand. God knows the deepest, most gut-wrenching wounds. 

I Peter 2:24 tells us, “He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” 

Are you wounded today? 

Do you find yourself in need of His healing and comforting touch? 

Our Father is the God who heals us. I've experienced His healing firsthand.  Sometimes, when I'm hurting deeply, I like to imagine myself climbing into the lap of Jesus, just to be held by Him, and He comforts me.

Isaiah 57:19 says, “I will comfort those who mourn, bringing words of praise to their lips. May they have abundant peace, both near and far," says the Lord, who heals them.”

May you come near to Him today, allowing Him to carry you in His arms, to hold you, to comfort you. 

“He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young” (Isaiah 40:11). 

Oh, how He loves you and me.
