God's Cinderella

"For your Creator will be your husband; the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name!  He is your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth."  Isaiah 54:5

Once upon a time . . . is the familiar beginning to my favorite fairy tale, Cinderella.  It's such a beautiful love story.  You have all of the elements life hands us:  virtue, truth, evil, injustice, and good wins out in the end.  Cinderella finds her Prince Charming and they live happily ever after.  

What could be better?

As a little girl, I never tired of the Cinderella story.  In fact, I often twirled around the house singing, "Someday my Prince Will Come," just like Cinderella.  And, I would often imagine my perfect Prince Charming.  Then, others would remind me that Prince Charming doesn't exist in real life--only in fairy tales. 

But, in reading the Holy Bible, I discovered that those people were wrong.  There was and is a real Prince.  He is the Prince of Peace, and He's better than Prince Charming.  He's perfect in every way, and He loves you so much that if you were the only one in the whole world, He still would've died, just for you.

Are you still looking for Prince Charming?  He's already come for you, and the glass slipper He's holding . . . it's just your size.

It is the greatest love story of all time.  And, it’s no fairy tale.

Once upon a time, God loved you so much He sent His One and only Son as your Prince of Peace.

And, when we're one with Him, there really is a happily ever after.
