Day 5
"May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ." 2 Thessalonians 3:5
After work today, I didn't really feel like running. But, since I knew you would hold me accountable, I dangled the Hershey bar out in front, and off I went. Did the twice around the block, walking and running, and look forward to being able to run the entire way. Water, leg lifts and crunches followed. I think I need to add some upper body strength training with three-pound weights.
Eating habits are beginning to change, as I don't seem to be very hungry after running. A nice fringe benefit.
As I ran today, God brought to mind some of the beautiful blessings He's allowed me to see this year: the salvation of a favorite cousin I adore, Mike; beautiful new friendships; the healing of a friend; hearing my son preach his first sermon; the growth of my sweet daughter.
I also thought about the passing of two faithful people this year: Billy Graham and Barbara Bush. They are great examples of the life of faith.
May we all aspire to inspire like they have and beyond.
