What A Difference You Make

"Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever." Daniel 12:3

Do you realize the impact your life has on the world around you?

We tend to lament our flaws, wasting precious time on self, neglecting to share Jesus Christ with those who need Him.  We could lament our flaws until the cows come home and never really accomplish anything for God’s Kingdom.

I don’t think any of us fully realize the value or the impact that our individual lives have.  Our deeds here will last long past the day you and I take our last breath.  Each life touches so many, though we seldom take thought of it.  We tend to think more about what we're going to wear and what we're going to eat than the more important things in life, like asking the stranger sitting alone if they'd like to sit with us, or inviting our neighbor—the one nobody likes—to dinner.

I think this is what Jesus was talking about when He said in Luke 12:21-23, “Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”  Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear.  For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing."

Clearly, there are bigger fish to fry in your life's journey than the basic needs that God's already got covered for you.  But, sometimes we tend to camp in the minutia of life, looking for the next promotion or job change and forgetting what life's all about.

Have you forgotten what life's all about?

It's all about God and your relationship with Him.  It's all about telling others about Him.  It's all about living the love that is the very essence of who He is, His truth—His real truth—every day.

Whether for good or for bad, what a difference your one life makes today and for all eternity.
