The Best Friday Ever

"Then he took the body down from the cross and wrapped it in a long sheet of linen cloth and laid it in a new tomb that had been carved out of rock. This was done late on Friday afternoon, the day of preparation, as the Sabbath was about to begin." Luke 23:53-54

Do you look forward to Fridays?

Many people look forward to Friday because it is the last day in their work week.  Others look forward to Friday because of a break from school, an opportunity for rest, spending time with family, or any number of other reasons.

I recently went to get the oil in my car changed at the local Mister Carwash, and greeted the man with the standard, "Happy Friday!"  The man was quick to say, "Madam, every day is just as happy as the next to me because I serve Jesus and He fills me with joy no matter what day it is."

A real gem.  This man oozed God.

About two thousand years ago there lived a man who oozed God more.  In fact, He was God--in the flesh.  His name is Jesus.  The Holy Bible tells us that on Friday, after He was crucified, His body was taken down from the cross, wrapped in a long piece of linen, and placed in a tomb.  For those who loved Jesus, it didn't seem like a very good Friday.

And, it wasn't.

It was the best Friday ever.  For the long awaited Savior, the promised King, the Messiah, the Redeemer, the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace had become the perfect sacrifice for our sin, and the world waited in hopeful anticipation for His promised resurrection.

And, it came.  It REALLY came.

He comes to you today, too, and He is closer than you think.  Do you see Him?  He sees you.  And, He longs to make every day as joyful as the next for you--like the best Friday EVER--regardless of your circumstance.

May you see Him, follow Him, share Him today and every day.  And, may you have the best Friday you've ever had in your life.
