It's Hard to Find Good Help
"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." Colossians 3:23
It's hard to find good help these days.
In fact, just yesterday I went to get my car washed, and upon getting inside noticed several spots that were missed by the attendant. I ordered flowers, paying in advance, and the florist lacked the proper supplies to complete the order on time. In building a website, the developer failed to do the job properly or meet their own pre-determined deadlines time and again. Even in writing, no matter how many times I proofread, or how many editors I employ, there still seem to be errors in my manuscripts.
I would imagine God feels that way with us Christians, too.
There are pastors and associate pastors whose lives look no different than the sinner on the street. There are Sunday School teachers who use profanity--even in the church. There are fields white with the harvest of lost souls, and no one to do the work of bringing them to repentance and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
It's hard to find good help.
But, God's Word gives us the motivation for being good help.
Proverbs 22:29 tells us, "Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people."
I don't know about you, but I'd like to work for the King.
