God's Little Surprises

“Around midnight Boaz suddenly woke up and turned over. He was surprised to find a woman lying at his feet!” Ruth 3:8

Our wonderful Heavenly Father is full of surprises. Imagine the surprise of Abraham and Sarah when Isaac was born. Abraham was one hundred years old, and Sarah ninety (Genesis 21:1-5)! The name, Isaac, means laughter. His birth was such a surprise it brought laughter to the family.

If we consider Jesus’ ministry on earth, we find that nearly everything Jesus did was a surprise to those around Him. He did the unexpected . . . the amazing.

And, He still does.

Have you paid attention recently to His surprising work in your life?

Have you seen the surprising things He has done in the lives of those around you?

Some surprises that come our way may not seem to us to be good things at the time they occur, but remember Romans 8:28, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

May you open your eyes and praise God today and every day for His big and little surprises happening all around you.

Perhaps He has a surprise for you today.
