Faith vs. Sight

"We know these things are true by believing, not by seeing." 2 Corinthians 5:7 (TLB)

Do you live by faith or by sight?Following is a little test:

Sight says, “Leaving the home I know and love to become a missionary can’t be God’s will for my life. It would be too much change for my family. It just isn’t reasonable.”

Faith says, “Then he said to the crowd, ‘If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me’” (Luke 9:23 NLT).

Sight says, “I can’t be the teacher that you’ve called me to be, Lord. My family needs a lawyer’s salary to survive and make ends meet. It’s only practical.”

Faith says, “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NLT).

Let me ask the question again: Do you live by faith or by sight?

May we live by faith and be the seeds described in Luke 8:15: “And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest” (NLT).
