Are We There Yet

"I have traveled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not.” 2 Corinthians 11:26

As a youngster on family vacations, I vividly remember asking my father time and again, “Are we there yet?” The trip back home made me even more anxious.

My own children have been no different—especially as we travelled from Southeast Texas to Yellowstone one summer.

Often throughout my journey with Christ, I have asked my Heavenly Father the same thing. “Are we there yet, Father? How much longer? When will we be there?”

Each time, our patient, compassionate, gentle, and loving Heavenly Father responds. Always, His response is far beyond my expectations.

We aren’t there yet, and often the road is long, exhausting, and we want to stop or even quit.

John 14:2 says, “There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?”

Keep going. You’ll get there. And, God will have your place ready.
