A Willing Heart

“But Moses protested to God, ‘Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?’” Exodus 3:11

Do you have a willing heart?

In this passage of Scripture we find that Moses isn’t very willing to appear before Pharaoh. Have you ever been unwilling to do the things God asks of you?

Moses was unwilling to do the things that God asked of him because he felt unqualified. None of us are truly qualified for the tasks God gives us to do. That’s the amazing part. When God calls us, He also equips us. We’re never qualified on our own, but we are always perfectly qualified through God, our Father.

Fanny Crosby was a missionary, a teacher, a poet, a lyricist, and a composer who wrote over eight thousand hymns and gospel songs. She was known as the Queen of Gospel Song Writing, and the Mother of Congregational Singing in America. Fanny Crosby could have easily told God she couldn’t answer His call because she was blind. Instead, she saw her blindness as both a blessing and a gift. I can’t imagine the number of lives God has seen fit to change through her willingness to follow Him.

What about you? Are you willing to give up your own agenda for God’s?

Do you hear Him calling?

May each and every one of us examine our hearts, repenting of anything that might keep us from answering God’s call today.
