Crime and Punishment

“And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt?   And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness?   And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him?  So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.”  Hebrews 3:16-19

There was no denying it.

Clearly, it was God’s chosen people—his favored ones—who disobeyed and disappointed Him.  And, as comes with the territory, there was punishment for their many crimes, their acts of disobedience, their failure to believe and trust God’s perfect plan and care for them.  They thought their plan was better than God’s.

So, they missed out on His perfect plan, His blessing, and they received punishment, instead.

What about you?

Do you think your plan is better than God’s?  Are you busy doing what you want to do with your life, instead of what God wants?

It’s not too late to give Him all the pieces of your life—don’t hold anything back.  He can put them together perfectly.

And, you can experience the peace that passes all understanding, unspeakable joy, and the everlasting blessing He has promised.
