For the Visual Learner

“At that time I gave Joshua this charge: ‘You have seen for yourself everything the Lord your God has done to these two kings. He will do the same to all the kingdoms on the west side of the Jordan.’” Deuteronomy 3:21

Are you a visual learner? Do you long to see things with your own eyes in order to grasp the concept? Or, do you tend to visualize yourself accomplishing certain things in life?

In this passage of Scripture, Moses encourages Joshua to visualize what he has already seen God do before.

Throughout Scripture, God speaks to the visual learner. He shows Himself real, and helps us to visualize the place He has for us in His kingdom. But, this visualizing, this seeing, requires faith.

When Jesus was resurrected from the dead, Thomas did not witness His resurrected body with the other disciples at the beginning, and failed to believe the witnesses. Yet God, out of great love, showed Himself to Thomas.

The Scripture says in John 20:26-28, “Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. ‘Peace be with you,’ he said. Then he said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!’”

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.

May we have the faith to believe and visualize God’s truth at work in our lives today and every day.
