Honor Bound

“I will bring honor to your name in every generation. Therefore, the nations will praise you forever and ever.” Psalm 45:17

The definition of honor is to hold in high esteem; revere, dignify; glorify.

The Bible talks a great deal about honor. In fact, honor or a form of honor is used three hundred sixty-six times in the New Living Translation of The Bible.

Being honor bound is to be obliged to one’s personal integrity. That is, doing what is honest, right, and true whether anyone else is watching us or not. It is about the legacy we leave by the way we live the life God has blessed us with—each and every day.

God is always watching.

Are your actions bringing honor to the name of Christ?

Will your actions today bring honor to God in generations to come?

In 2 Chronicles 2:4, King Solomon said, “I am about to build a Temple to honor the name of the Lord my God. It will be a place set apart to burn fragrant incense before him, to display the special sacrificial bread, and to sacrifice burnt offerings each morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, at new moon celebrations, and at the other appointed festivals of the Lord our God. He has commanded Israel to do these things forever.”

May your life be a fragrant offering that honors the name of the Lord your God today and for many generations to come.
