Stubborn Stains
“Blessed are those who fear to do wrong, but the stubborn are headed for serious trouble.” Proverbs 28:14
Do you have a stubborn streak?
Romans 2:5 tells us, “But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.”
When King Saul turned away from God and refused to follow His plan, the prophet, Samuel, was sent with this message for him, “Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”
God’s Word reminds us repeatedly that in order to walk in God’s favor, we must be obedient to Him. We must yield our will to God.
There is no place for stubbornness in a yielded life. A stubborn heart will prevent us from experiencing God’s best. A life bent on sin and having one’s own way will end in defeat and destruction.

Ask God to reveal any areas of stubborn sin in your life. Then, ask Him to help you yield those areas to Him.
May you repent, and may God become master over any area of rebellion that may be invading or controlling your life today.
