Practice Makes Perfect

"Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you."  Philippians 4:9

"Mom, do we have to practice the piano today?"  That is a question I hear almost daily from my two children, to which I usually respond, "How do you expect to get any better if you don't practice?"

Anything we want to improve in, we practice, don't we?  If you want to be a faster runner, you practice.  If you want to be a better musician, you practice.  A better swimmer, practice.

Our walk with Christ is no different.  If we want our faith to be strengthened, we must practice using it!  If we want to be obedient to Christ, we must practice saying, "no" to sin.  Want to be holy?  Practice holiness.  As each area grows and becomes stronger, the practice will become more challenging--just like anything else in life.

But, don't give up, and don't quit, for in due season we will reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9)

May you practice doing good today, and may it be the best day you've ever had in your life.
