Flawed

Are you flawed?  Me, too.

My Flaws
1.  I talk too much.
2.  I've been known to drink straight from the milk carton on occasion.
3.  I believe God invented chocolate just for me.  If you have some,
He meant for you to give it to me.
4.  I'm not a healthy eater (refer to number 3).
5.  I sing random "shoo-bee-doo-bee" songs around the house.
6.  I can't keep a secret.
7.  I cry easily and often.

I'll just stop there for now, but you get the picture.  Those who know me well could add many more to the list.

We often laugh and make light of our flaws and short-comings.  But, God doesn't.  He takes them very seriously.

Consider the words in Hebrews 10:26-27, "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God."

Consider further the words in Romans 6:1-2, "Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace?  Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?"

I John 3:9 tells us, "Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God."  If we are children of God, He convicts us of our sin, so they we don't keep committing the same sins over and over again.

My prayer for you (and myself) is that we would take our "pet" sins seriously--as God does, that He would convict us of all our sins, and that we would have a heart of obedience to change.

May you have the best day you've ever had in your life.
