Our Comforter

I love what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit’s loving, gentle comfort of His children. Psalm 94:19 says, “When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.”

2 Corinthians 1:5 says, “For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.”

We know the Holy Spirit is our comfort at all times, as the Bible says in John 14:16, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;” That’s right. It says forever. The Comforter will never leave us. If you are in need of comfort today, claim that promise in Scripture, and receive the Holy Spirit’s overwhelming comfort in your life.

Regardless of our age, we all find ourselves in need of comfort at various times in our lives. I often envision myself as a child climbing into the lap of my Heavenly Father, to His warm and tender embrace, when I pray. His comfort is so overpowering and wonderful, especially in times of struggle and pain.

Let Him embrace you as you pray through whatever troubles you are facing in your life today, and may you have the best day you've ever had in your life.
