God's Purpose for All of Us

God created each and every one of us for a very special purpose. Proverbs 16:4 tells us, “The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster.” He has a plan for your life.

But, that doesn’t mean that we can or should go about living our lives without any thought because God is our great puppet master in the heavens. No, the Bible clearly tells us in John 10:10, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

We are in the midst of a spiritual battle. God longs to give us victory over sin and death, but there is a thief among us—a wolf. Many times he dresses in sheep’s clothing—the better to see, hear and taste us.

God’s purpose is that none of us should perish, but that all should come to know Him. We are all a part of this divine plan, and God longs for us to be unified in this purpose for His glory.

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

If we are unified in our purpose of bringing glory and honor to God, then we must set about using the abilities and talents He has given us for His glory—not our own.

I Corinthians 9:26 says, “So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.”

C. S. Lewis once said, “Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.”

Ask God to fulfill His purpose in your life today. That is my prayer for you, and that you would have the best day you've ever had in your life.
