Remove the Snakes

"Then the people came to Moses and cried out, 'We have sinned by speaking against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take away the snakes. So Moses prayed for the people." Numbers 21:7 NLV

I love the story of the Israelites wandering in the wilderness with Moses simply because I can relate to their childish impatience and impetulence. In this part of the story, God has just given the Israelites great victory over the land of Canaan. They are traveling from Mount Hor to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. Yet, like so many times before, the Israelites became impatient with the long journey and manna they were eating, and they began to complain about Moses and God.

This time, God became so angry with the Israelites for their lack of gratitude and complaining, that He sent poisonous snakes among them. Many of the Israelites were bitten by the snakes and died.

Finally, the Israelites repented and asked Moses to pray to God to take away the snakes.

Are there poisonous snakes in your life because of your lack of gratitude? Do you need to repent and then ask God to take away the snakes?

My prayer for you is that you will be overwhelmed with a heart of gratitude for all that God has given to you, and that there will be no poisonous snakes in your life.

May you have the best week you've ever had in your life.
