Raising the Standard
"For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways." Isaiah 55:9 NLT
Have you noticed the standards of today? Or, maybe you've noticed the lack of standards that exist today with regard to speech, respect, obedience, education, television, politics, tolerance, etc. We could go on and on, right?
I love the the 55th Chapter of Isaiah. It is purely and simply an invitation to Christ's salvation. It is a call to raising the standard. Verse 3 says, "Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David." I don't know about you, but I find few people who actually listen anymore--to anyone except themselves. Yet, God tells us here that if we will but listen to Him, we will find life!
Verse 8 says, "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the Lord. "And, my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine."
I challenge you to read all of Isaiah 55 and raise your standard of living--to live in obedience to Christ. You will find abundant life that is beyond anything you could possibly imagine.
I challenge you to significant change. I challenge you to turn off the questionable television program, to correct the inappropriate speech or behavior in yourself, your child. I challenge you to walk in complete obedience to God's Word. That is my prayer for you today.
