Faithful in the Small Things
There are some members of my family, near and dear to my heart, who are consumed with what I call "get rich quick" schemes. Whatever the latest, greatest pyramid idea is, they're on it, and trying their hardest to get me involved, too. Do you know someone like that?
Get rich quick schemes are tempting, but the Bible teaches us to stay away from them. Proverbs 28:20 says, "The trustworthy person will get a rich reward, but a person who wants quick riches will get into trouble."
The Bible also teaches us to work hard at whatever we do, and that if we are faithful in the small things, God will reward our faithfulness with greater responsibility. Luke 16:10 says, “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities."
Are you tempted by what appear to be "get rich quick" schemes? The next time someone approaches you with such an idea, remember what the Bible says about quick riches and faithfulness. "Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time." Proverbs 13:11
May you work hard, may God increase your wealth, and may this be the best week you've ever had in your life.
