Joyful Memories

My father-in-law passed away last week. A difficult time for all of us. Yet, in spite of our loss, we have assurance that he is in Heaven. We also have treasured memories of the man some called Grandpa, Dad, Honey, and Friend.

The Bible talks about the kind of memories we should treasure, too. Simon Peter tells us in 2 Peter 1:13-15, "I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things."

May you be filled with the joyful memories of what Christ has done for you, and may you have the best week you've ever had in your life.

Hello. I don't know you at all, but I think we know some of the same people. I was just browsing around looking for pretty blogs because my wife says I need to learn to make "pretty" buttons that "girls like" so I'm trying to learn.

But I couldn't just read about your father-in-law and pass on through without offering my condolences and prayers. A number of years ago, my grandfather passed on. In many ways, he was like a father to me, so I have an idea of what your husband is feeling. My prayers are with your family.

On a lighter note, I love your old truck in the picture. I used to have a 1951 Ford and I sure miss that truck.

And, I think your little flower between posts is giving me some "girl stuff" inspiration.
